Brum LX is fast approaching and we are finalising the line-up of live music for you to enjoy. We are very pleased to announce our bands for the Friday and Sunday night parties!
Friday Night
The Schwings with Laura Budreckyte (Lithuania) at The Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Edgebaston
The Schwings and Laura Budreckyete return to Birmingham as firm favourites with the festival public. The Schwings play swing, gypsy and Brazilian jazz with an authentic, original sound and its sincere communication with the audience. A pulsating rhythm, unusual instrument combinations, artistry, positive and lively performance – all these aspects define The Schwings.
Singer Laura Budreckyte comes from a cozy Birštonas resort in the jazz mecca of Lithuania, home to the oldest jazz festival in Lithuania. In 2014 Laura graduated from the Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy with a master‘s degree in vocal jazz studies. Also she became 1st place winner and best free programme performer at the Jazz Voices competition in Klaipėda (Lithuania, 2012), and won the Grand Prix at international Riga Jazz Stage competition (Latvia, 2013).
